My 30 recently started to miss very slightly and stutter when I take off- even in 1st gear. Now, I can only work it for a very short time before it overheats. Am I looking at a blown head gasket? Honestly haven't checked the oil for water yet.

If I need to replace the head gasket can anyone recommend the best rebuild kit out there. I had planned a total rebuild, just wasn't going to do it this summer but I may as well if I am going to tear it down for a head gasket anyway...

Have you checked your ignition timing and gas/air mixture?

Both may give the symptoms mentioned.
Too lean mixture or too early ignition will surely overheat engine and make it cough.
