Have two ?'s First torque on the head bolts what is it? Looks to have water in radaitor at times and looks like head was recently rebuilt. Second why does the oil for hydraulics always turn milky like it getting water in there. I now what your thinking its old NO just changed it two week later back to milky. Or dust cover on top of shifter NO in very good condition. Also had MF 50 gas with same problem. Changing that oil can get pretty expensive I thinks it about 6 or 7 gal. So any one has had this problem and corrected it please help.

Actually it IS water, but not from any leakage of the seals around the shifters or any other place, it's coming from condensation of the housing of rear end and tranny.I have one that does the same thing, mine is a 1963 model/gasoline engine. I found that mine was turning "milky" on several ocassions. It would get that way especially on rainy damp days when the bodyhousing was cool and the outside ambient temperatures were cooler. I remedied the problem by dis-assembling the tractor and after cleaning the inside of the housing with toluene, I painted the inside with an epoxy type paint(any color of choice), it seems to have solved the problem

Sometimes when the oil gets stirred up it goes milky as air gets into into it. If it settles out again back to normal colour it could just be air.
