Running a massey 1080 and the 3 pt. is weak, revving up the rpms seems to help but what does this sound like to everyone else. Pump needing overhauled or filter needing changed or something else? Will lift fine with no load on it but with a roll of hay it has some problems. We think it may be the pump needing to be gone through but would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!
Gary

I have a 165 that used to have weak 3pt. I tried to lift a big 4x4x8 square with it and a first it wouldn't lift, but then after a few tries it picked it up and has always been able to lift since then. Maybe I just got lucky, or something in the rear end popped and I just don't know it yet.

Got a 1085 with same problem , is pto weak as well? If you have multipower , there are 3 pumps in there , lift , aux hyd and boost. The boost pump sits on top of aux. , mine need all 3 , not brave or rich enough to get in there yet.

It does have multi power, not sure about the pto, its not my tractor, it belongs to the folks who are helping me this year do some hay work. The 1080 is pulling round bale moving and rowing up duty. It will stay up pretty good when the rpms are up pretty good. does the work on the pumps require the tractor to be split?
Thanks!
Gary

Boost pump handles mutipower , does not take much power , lift pump sounds like culprit , it is seperate and yes it is a split job , pumps are all inside tranny case . Makes a big case for putting them where you reach them , even worse if you have a cab . Good Luck

gy 3020,It`s been 25 years, but I think you do haftto split a 1080 and remove the top cover too.
