I am mechanically challenged and Yesterday I had 25 tons of rock dropped on my drive. the drive is about 300 ft. long. I have done some brush hogging, and box blading my drive after bad rains with no problem, however, I now have a washboard driveway. When I try to smooth it, the tractor naturally rolls over the washboard and doesn't smooth it. Is their a control on my FE-35 that will maintain a level blade? I am not sure what the "draft" control does.
Thanks,
C. T.

I only have about eight months experience on my first tractor (MF 2135) but I've been doing a lot of box-blading lately and I think I understand what Draft-control is.

Ler's say you're plowing a large field and you come across some ground that's harder than the rest of it. Instead of letting the tractor get bogged down, the draft-control "senses" the added pull and lifts the implement a little higher (less "draft") so the tractor doesn't get bogged down. This makes me think that it's not right for small box-blading jobs,

I have found that there's no way to get away from making SEVERAL passes when box-blading. Eventually you'll even out that washboard. In this weather, you'll find that the result has the consistency of finely ground flour. After it's generally even, you might want to harrow or rake it smoother and then put a sprinlker on it for a couple of hours a day for about three days before you put down the gravel.

'hope that helps:)

TOM

Tom,
Thanks for the info. Since I don't plow, I probably won't have a need for the "Draft" control. You're right, the more I went over my drive, the better it got, then a neighbor loaned me a drag device made from an I beam with log chains welded to it. That helped me complete it much faster. C. T.
