I have a 1960 MF 35 Diesel Deluxe, and I'm looking for a place that has good straight tin, especially the piece that goes beneath the grill. I have given some thought to the fiberglass versions available in the U.K., but would rather keep it original. Any thoughts or experience with the fiberglass would be appreciated.

Hi Chip from Fred I had that same problem with my MF-35 and there was enough of the old piece left to weld patches on it and fill in with Bondo (body filler) and sanded to suit me. It's not a noticeable repair, even when you study it a while. I figured the weeds would wipe off the paint pretty quick and I'd be looking at patches of filler but not-so after mowing at least a couple hundred acres with it. If it's possible, a piece cut out of an old car fender brazed in or torch welded in will do wonders along with the body filler. Fred from the Mung Factory

Thanks Fred! I wish I had some of mine left to work with, I'll probably head out to scour the countryside later in the spring, maybe I can find one laying around.
