I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find a block or maybe a complete motor for my 1940 Super 101. the current block a whole through the #1 cylinder and i believe it is beyond boring or sleeving. everything else is in great shape. I'm not as concerned with originallity as i am with getting the tractor running and ready to use.

The engine used in a MH 26 combine is the same. It is a Chrysler IND. 5A. 217 ci. Also a Plymouth car engine is the same but has different manifold and motor mount. The engines used in trucks and Dodge De Soto cars have bigger blocks. These are the same as the engine used in a #201 tractor.

Those were a Chrysler Flathead 6 cylinder. I can't remember for sure but they were also used in the Dodge/plymouth trucks of that era, so you may be able to find one through an automotive salvage supplier.

Seems to me that someone mentioned here on the forum that the Chrysler block used in the cars and trucks were slightly longer than the one that came out in the Massey tractor. However, I have a friend that has a 101 Super and it definitely has a truck engine in it and it drops right in, however the front mount was different.
