Will a H277 MH head bolt on a 44 H260? Will this help the breathing? Were these heads on a 44 special and a 444?

I used 1066 IH sleeves/ and 2 inch cont. rods. out of a D-19 AC. Which you have to cut and lengthen. I think their around 7.250 inchs long stock. Been a why'll ago. I have found that real big cu. sometimes is not the answer with a 44. The head sucks!! Your really are limited for air and fuel. My two cents.
Good Luck.

I was wondering where I could get a catalog or a good place to find parts for a 44 Massey Harris. I would particularly interested in a catalog or list of available parts to find the required parts to fix the tractor properly.

Thank you for your time,
Wes

A "55" motor will fit with some mods to the front mount shorten the drive train hookup. But the 55 has a 382 in it and is similar but obviously larger, but if you have the cash you could get something like 700 cubes out of it.

As Don stated, the starter is on the opposite side, which makes for a difficult time connecting to the original gearbox for steering.

you can take them to about 550, depends on how long you want them to last. 7.5 stroke is about the max you can get in one that I have found. Want more info, email me.

504 cid is about the biggest(2 inch stroke,4 5/8 bore) 437 cid with factory rods(1 inch stroke)
I heard of the diesel doing well around 327cid(4" bore x 1" stroke)

Hey Gang!

I am still here! I just have been HERE for a while! If anyone needs technical assistance with mods to an H260 or other MH, drop me a line! As another guy says: "Mild to WILD", I do it all!

My 590 cubic inch powered 444 is just about ready to roll out of the shop. I have absolutely CURED the airflow problems with the 44 (H260/H277) cylinder head. Expecting a "real" horspower result of 200+ at stock +20%, lets all hope that it will hold together! But more about that later...

Regards,

Masseypuller
