Help. I am looking for a good used set or new set of brake shoes for a Massey Harris 30. Or I would love to find a good contact for someone who relines any shoe. Thanks.

If they are the full, single-band style and you are getting them relined, make sure that whoever does it doesn't put on linings that are too thick. I think about 1/4" is maximum and some brake shops will pop on a 5/16" lining which they will say is their thinnest material to work with. If they are too thick you'll have no end of problems getting them inside the drums. Any "real" brake shop (not like Midas or any other franchise chain) should be able to do the job.

Whomever does the religning should also do an "arcing" (sp?; pronounced "ARKING") of the shoes to the radius of the drum in which they will be installed. The "arcing" will provide the correct final material position (thickness). Be sure to ask to have the shoes arc'd (pronounced ARKT) to the drum diameter (radius).

Send your shoes to me, Should be able to reline. Hard to estimate, if I have a lining with the right holes or will have to custom counter sink the holes. Don L.
