Where is Reverse and gap?

My 44 is finally home from the auction. I installed the new rotor and points and with the help of jumper cables I got it started.

First of all, what is the proper gap for the points?

And I hate to have to ask the next questions, but where is reverse? I have tried what seem to be all the gears and they all send me forward. What am I missing?

One other quick question. Where is the lever, knob, whatever that would engage the PTO?

Thanks for pointing out what anyone should be able to figure out.

Finally found my 44 manual...
Points: .018 to .022 . Dwell: 42 + or - 3 deg. Breaker arm spring: 17 to 20 oz of pull. Plugs: .025 + or - .002.
Hope this helps - ALAN

The shift pattern is;

5 R 2
4 1 3

And I believe the Reverse and 1st throws are shorter. Making it slightly harder to find. The shifting on all my Masseys have a very tight and solid feel. Compared to my Farmalls which are somewhat sloppy but easier to shift. Probably the fit of the shift lever rod in the slides in side the tranny.

The PTO engage lever should be just to the right of your left knee when sitting, just below the left edge of the gauge panel. Does your 44 have the Live PTO lever?

Post any other questions. People here are very helpful and understanding. Good luck with a great tractor.

Thanks for your help and not starting your e-mail with "Dear stupid". I am not sure if it is a live PTO or not yet. In fact I am wondering if it is indeed the RC version due to the NF and 13.6X38 tires. I plan to spending some time Saturday locating the serial numbers and using the charts located here to figure all that out. Again thanks!
