Well, my new (to me) 135 might have a problem. After putting a load on the engine bushogging, I noticed what I thought was smoke coming out of the vent pipe (comes out of valve cover). Upon futher inspection, seems to be water vapor and occasional drop of water. No oil in crankcase (drained and changed), no oil in radiator water. Sparkplugs 1 thru 3 looked good, plug 4 oil fouled. Could it be rain got in crankcase somehow (tractor has been outside)? No smoke out of exhaust. I'd hate to learn of a cracked head/block, but would rather learn now - I can carry tractor back. Thanks for any help/ideas.

Thanks for the help/opinions. After changing the oil, ran tractor for about 3 hours, steam/smoke almost gone, barely noticeable. Still no water in oil, or oil in water. Nervous about new purchase, I guess. I've not changed plugs yet - thats up for this week.
I LIKE this tractor!

Andy the best thing you can do for your tractor on a regular basis is to take it out and work it hard. That's waht these machines were designed to do, and not just be run a few minutes a couple of times per week or taken to shows which is also fun, but to prolong the negine life they do need to be worked.

Moisture buildup in the crankcase and tranny is really common on tractors that us get used occasionally, and nver get warmed up to operating temperature. When you use the tractor use it until it gets good and hot, then take time to cool her downa while at idle speed before shutting her down.

Could simply be a bad plug especially if it's Champion brand. NGK are the best performers in these engines.

Good Luck

Could be. Run it for a while longer and see if problem still persists. Could be a blown head gasket. Scott
