they have both foot and hand clutch. the hand clutch is your live pto clutch it stop the forward movement of tractor so the pto runs push in the foot clutch all stops

is this the same one the m-h 44 as this could be usefull, my 44 needs a carb job and a new exaust manifold, oh yeah and thanks to that da%$ brake lock that are feet always seem to rest on, brakes before i can use it. know where i can get the gear pump and tank res for my 44 as i only have the control unit that is under the seat.

444 came with the 277 mine on the dyno. turns out 54 hp. 10 speed trans. the lever on the right is the live pto clutch lever its next to the right brake pedal and if you have a hyd. pump on the left side in front on the engine or p.s. you have live hyd.no torque converter. when we farmed it would pull 4-14 or 3-16 in a case trailer plow. only thing is to drive it and listen to the trans. in hi and low for noise ther is a top shaft that can get noisy

JUST me again, since i cant get any help on my other post what would you say a 444 standard in non runing condition is worth. it has been sitting for years, with fuel {so i think that is why it wont run}, looks good tin and paint wise, has hydraulics, good ruber but if i remember it is dry rot. also is under a roof with dirt floor, think all tires were inflated so rimes should be good.

Steven- some had a hand clutch as option. ours has a foot clutch. be sure the lovejoy is good. that connects the engine to the tranny. 444 is a super machine. in the condition you mentioned you can probably buy it reasonable. a restored unit will bring tall dollars, here about 4K or so. The standard version is not as valuable as a row crop to them fussy collector types, which I ain't.

Steven, the site "m-h.cs.uoguelph.ca/" is correct. If you entered .com instead of .ca/, it takes you to a domain registering site. Just Use the copy/paste function and it will work. C. T.
