Would anyone know the lift capacity of the 3 pt hitch for a MF50 diesel? I am looking at some new rotary brush cutters for this machine and some of the medium duty brush cutters top out at over 1000 lbs. My guess is that a 35 and 135 would have similar lifting abilities. Lastly, what size brush cutters are you folks using (I am looking at 6ft), how do they handle behind your tractor, how heavy is the stuff you are cutting and how does the pounding of your cutter effect the pto on your tractor? I keep thinking this machine is 40 years old and I had better take it easy both with weight and brush to be cut.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Bill i have to 35 massey and a 5ft. bush hog it has the 2stage clutch that all you want with that tractor it handle it real good.and the effect on the pto ok as long as you use a soft grade shear pen.do not-do not- use a grade eight bolt.

My 2135 will also lift round bales easily. My owner's manual sez that it is designed to handle category I implements (whatever THEY are) safely.
I tend to disagree with Dave about the right size brush-hog. I'm using a 5 footer and I think it makes maneuvering easier. A six footer would maybe get the job done faster (20%), but every time you tried to turn while next to a tree or fence, you'd probably have to slow down to keep from banging the hog or the tree around.

I've used both a 5' and 6' on a 35. The 5' is perfect, but the 6' is too much. I would think a 50 would handle a 6' better. But I wouldn't want it on steep hills.

I've used a 6' on a 165 and it's about right.

My MF50 will pickup and move 1100 round bales with relative ease. I don't carry them far, though. I have a 5 ft brush hog that it will pull all day long without blinking. Mine has adjustable rear wheels and right now they're set about midway which is a little wider than 5 feet. Would be nice to have the implement wider than the rear wheels.

the hydraulics will lift more than the tractor can safely handle, especially on slopes. Pick a 5' hog medium duty. Light duty 6' should only be used if your never gonna be on hill.
