What is the difference between a Massey Harris model 81 and a model 82?

The story about the RCAF is true , although the 81 was at heart an agricultural tractor.

I've read somewhere that the 81's were used by the Canadian Air Force during WWII as airport tarmack towing tractors. Apparently these ones were painted some shade of blue. An interesting story but I'm not sure as to whether it is true or not.

Dear Brian : The 82 is the Distilate Model of the Tractor while the 81 burns Gasoline . The 81 has a 124 Continental Engine while the 82 has a 140 Continental Motor .
Hope this helps !
George

Thank you. We had a 81 when I was a kid. I've seen alot of 82's. Always wanted to know the difference.

Thanks

Brian
