I have a MF-65 and have been reading posts here for some time. I have seen only one post about the mf-65. What's the deal are they not very popular or reliable? I would appreciate any input about this tractor. This is my first tractor and am now questioning my purchase.
Y'all keep it up I do enjoy your posts.
Thanks,Owen

I am looking for a second MF 65. The Perkins diesel runs great after alot of use. Repairs are not to bad if you take your time and use the repair manual.

I bought one about 7 years ago. Had used tractors a lot, needed one, but small budget. Bought it with the continental gas for about 1,300, fair working condition. Has been my favorite tractor since. Very powerful, even the gas. Wouldn't sell it for the world.

I sure am glad to hear ya'll are so impressed with the 65. I just bought one on monday. Seemed to be the best deal I found after considerable searching for mid/ small tractors. I have alot to learn on them yet. Mine has an end loader but the lift arms were robbed off it. Any good place to go for them?
Thanks,
Good luck Owen.
Rick

do not question your purchase, you did good. I had a MF65 LP that was great little tractor....got in a bind, needed a bigger tractor...traded it with a guy who wanted a smaller tractor and regretted it ever since. Live and learn.

It doesnt matter if its a gas or diesel, standard or hi-arch. They are all good. Had a 1960 hi-arch gas that pulled 4-14s in heavy clay for years.

John,
come on now. If you pulled a 4 bottom plow in "heavy clay" with a MF 65 Gas, then you didn't plow very deep!!

I've inherited a diesel 65 from my old neighbour. I think it' a MarkII, assembled in Coventry. I've heard he didn't care much about oil changes. Now its done over 8000 hours and it still starts easy, pulls well and is economical. I've done up the water pump, the brakes(thanks Big Dean for your tips), replaced the starter and replaced hydraulic oil filter. Now it drives so well I don't want to sell it. Surely a are classic tractor, and made to last...
