I am planning to build a ROPS for my MF135. Can anyone tell me if they have seen plans for one. What I need is: mounting advice, wall thichness and dimension of tubing, width and height of frame.

It took JD quite awhile to develop they rolled I do not know how many tractors to test. Then gave it to the ind. Do you want to be on it to test it for the first time. Also they used special mounting bolts. They also fond out if you had three tires on each side they could not roll it. Find a used one. Massey gets them from Deere I just painted a 35B it had rops on that was made by Deere. The rops also has a weight limit for the size of tractor.

I found a used John Deere roll guard at the local auction yard adn put it on mine. Just used the bolt position for the fenders and remounted the fenders on top of the plate on the guard. You can see it on the tractor photos on this site. Just search for 1971 Massey Ferguson 135. Its the one with the rakes behind it. My main purpose was for shade as the buggy tops and trees are just not a good combination. Haven't had any problems since and its been on there since 1995. Made my own canopy for it as the ones from deere about made me fill my shorts!!!! I also bought a second roll guard at the tiem and put it on the 4020 I had and made my own canopy again. Something I'm going to have to do here again in a couple months as I have another 4020 and a 3020 I need to put one on. I got those other 2 for $200.00 each at the time.

I made one for my 230,copied factory unit.It mounts on top of rear axles using the fender mount bolts and a ubolt on the outboard end.The mount plate is 2 inch thick solid steel with 1/4 wall 3x3 box tubing for the uprites. Two uprites with a piece across the top.The mounts have a 1/4 inch thick piece of metal at the fender bolt holes to space it up so it will not hit the inner part of the axle housings (the housings are not flat)

Did you check w/ your local dealer about buying one? I thought that all the majors were offering them for their cost. I know Deere has a program like this. Might be worth looking into??

I also am looking for a ROPS for my 2135. If I search for it on the internet, I get a price of $1250 (ouch!). I doubt if anyone will give you plans for one since it has to be checked and double checked by professional engineers to limit liability, but if anyone out there has anything, I'd love to see it!
