I have a M-H50 that overheated. I replaced themostat. Today while blading snow it overheated and boiled over, tonight after it cooled down I refilled it with 50/50 mix and started it let it start heating up it pushed mix out of radiator, I did not have the cap on. The question is do I have a bad water oump or is it something else? Thanks for any help. Tom

Tom my first guess would be a head gasket leaking between the a cylinder & one of the water ports letting compression into the cooling system. It could also be the cores in the radiator are plug & you are not getting the circulation to cool the engine. If you filled it completely up to the top as the water heats up it will expand & run over especially with the cap off. That is my thought on it someone else may have something else though.

Big Dean thanks for the quick reply. Now if it is the head gasket should I try to retorque the head or replace the gasket? I have owned this tractor for 14 yrs and overhauled the engine 8 yrs ago.The tractor was used for many yrs for lots of bushhogging but the last couple of yrs only used on my 5 acres. Wonderful little tractor only wished it was easy to mount a front pump on it so I could put a loader on it,have seen your posts in the past about the front pump and it does't look like much room available for mounting a belt-driven pump either. I will be awaiting your suggestion about the head gasket. Thanks Tom
