I have 135 gas with continental engine. I have never heard anything bad about the continentals, and I have never had a problem with the engine. This tractor is a good tractor for what you want to do. The only problem with my tractor is that it will occasionally stick in gear, but this is common to all of these masseys and takes about 30 seconds to fix. Mine has a loader on it which can come in handy around the farm also. It is better than a shovel and wheelbarrow. I run seven foot finshing mower on it with no problem and without having to gear way down(even in tall wet grass.) I personally prefer gas on a smaller tractor, because it starts easier in cold weather without assisting it, and am more familiar with a gas engine. Power steering would be a definate plus if it has it. I would go to Big Dean's website. He will tell you what to look for on a massey tractor, and what is some of the common problems. I hope this helps you

Bob, The perkins gas and diesel engines are both very good engines, I have owned both and have been equally reliable. I would strongly consider power steering on the 135, Its not absolutely nessesary ,but , a worthwhile option. Dave....
