My 135 sat up for a couple of years and while getting it ready for work noticed that the mower attached to the 3 point hitch immediately went up when the engine started even though the lever was in the down position. Moving the lever did not change the 3 point hitch. I tried running it around to get it hot and checked the hydraulic oil but did not notice any evidence of water. How do I go about fixing this problem?

Valve seized due to standing. What i have done many of times is to drain oil.refill with red deisel leave the tractor run for an hour at least, with the sift lever in down position. If you can put some weight on it, like a front end loader.Fit new filter and replace oil.

At a guess I'd say your hydraulic control valve is stuck. Try Big Deans site for any tips about freeing this up. For Me, it would be a case of pulling the top plate off & stripping her down to free up the control valve. Sitting for a couple of years will have allowed the oil to deteriorate & the impurities to settle, hence a stuck control valve. Then again I may be totally wrong. Though I did have the exact same problem with a '58 Dexta. Good luck

Me and a buddy tore down his 50 for about the same problem. In the very top of the unit is a piston that pushes a link held by a roll pin that raises and lowerers the lift arms. The roll pin had broken, causing the lift arms to stick in the up position. Took less than an hour to pull everthing apart. Just got his parts for a complete rebuild, and haven't put it back togather yet.
