I just bought a M.F.35 gas burner yesterday. This is my first tractor. The man I bought it from did not know what year model it is. How do I go about finding out what year model it is. It also needs some lift work. The lift falls every time you push the clutch in and lifts as soon as you let out on it. This makes it very hard to take off when you engage the blade on the bushhog. I need to know if this is something simple to fix or if I need to completly overhaul the lift on it. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.

Chris the s/n should be on a plate to the left or right of the steering column near the light switch. you can use the codes to tell what year and some options at the serial number section of this website. if you have a dual clutch model you don't have to push the clutch in all the way to disengage the driveline. if you push in all the way you disengage the PTO which drives the hyd. pump.

hope this helps
