My 150 gas refused to start the other night after being run an hour before. Last night I gave it a small shot of either. It ran and again this morning it started. Any ideas why it did not want to start?

These 150 gas engines are as reliable as dirt. I've had one for 15 years with no unusual problems. If it would not work after nightfall, after a days running, I would suggest condensation or dew had settled on an ignition component as the engine cooled, shorting it out, temporarily. The most obvois place is inside the distributor cap. It only takes a slight amount of moisture to do this, especially if the cap is old or worn. Remove the cap and clean up the underside, or better yet, tune up the whole thing, cap, rotor, condensor, points wires, etc, especially if its been a few years since this was done.

Could be many things from fuel blockage to electrical component starting to fail.(coil or condenser) If you have not done a tune-up recently you could save yourself a walk back to the barn by some preventive maintenance. If you have done a tune -up recently, it could be as simple as vapor lock. A voltage tester is a handy item for the tool box.
