This follows a post on Tractor Talk forum that set me thinking. Has anyone swapped the Standard 23c engine in the FE35 for the Perkins A3.152 or AD3.152 engine used in MF35s and 135s? If so, what is involved? Is it just a straight engine swap or do other parts also have to be changed? Just asking from curiousity rather than any intention to do this (at the moment anyway.)

You will need the front axle support and flywheel housing, the bonnet top is different,so is the diesel tank.If you are using a 3.152 that is not from a 35 or an A.D.3.152 from a 135/148 etc, you will also need to change rocker cover(breather position)water pump(hieght)and possibly timing cover(to suit water pump)flywheel, and oil sump,Did this conversion with an engie from a Bristol crawler don't know weather it was quite worth it compared to buying a 'proper' 3 cylinder.

Off the top of my head i dont think it is a straight swap. The starter may be on different sides, and adapters needed to join at clutch and front axle carrier. Also Standard engine is longer than Perkins, so body panels will not fit.
