I am thinking of buying a 3 bottom plow. Its has 3-14's. I have a massey 65 diesel and 165 diesel. Will those tractors pull that plow ok? I think they are suppose to. Also does the plow have to have all three costlers> You know the round disc shapped things that are at each plow. The first plow has one but the other two are missing. Thanks

You should move the disk you have on to the back body and that way you will get a nice clean furrow to run in next time

I've pulled 3-16s behind a 65, and think that's about right. You should be able to pull 3-14s in any kind of soil you want.

Hard to say how it will run without the coulters. Cornstalks and other heavy trash might wrap up on the frame without them. You might be able to get some from a junkyard if you're lucky. Otherwise I guess you'll just have to try it out and see how it works.

According to the local Massey dealer, you figure 15 HP per bottom. A lot depends on the type of soil and if it is ground worked each year, etc.

Gary I pull 3-14s with my 35 Gas in ground that is worked every year, it is overloaded with this plow in sod that has not ben turned in a couple of years. The 65 should handle the plow real good in about any type soil. The colters are there to cut grass & vines so they don't catch on the plow beam & hold the plow out of the ground, I don't have any on any of my plows. Hope this helps. Gordon-(TN)
