I have a chance to buy a diesel MF25 but I have been told to stay away from it due to difficulty in finding parts? Is this true? Also, the rear lift is currently stuck in the UP position with a bush hog on it. What could be causing this?

i have a mf130, allmost the same as mf25. no matter what anyone says i have had the 130 for 40 years, work it hard, 4 cyl perkins engine diesel...i would buy it in a heartbeat,,,the hyd pump has a drop of water in it and rust..want let the lift down, could be the speed lift valve set too slow or stuck, could be the road latch lock up and not releaseing ,,,be sure to watch position of hyd lift cams and the position they are installed.

Mr Williams: the position of the lift cams is where I am having the problem! If you know or have the diagrams for the correct positions I would appreciate having them

Here in Europe most parts can be ordered from MF (still) Some older MF dealerships will even have parts in stock, just need to have the time to look for them and compare older part numbers with the new system of part numbers. Parts are also available from Yugoslavia and Turkey where these little tractors are in evereyday use. These and other versions (130?, 35?) were / still are made under licence overthere. The amazing good Perkins 4.107 diesel is used in all kind of equipment, pumps, ships, generators etc. and parts and even overhaul kits are available through the Perkins dealers. Week points in my opinion are lift and clutch

That is right parts for the MF25 are almost impossible to find for them in the US. The lift probably has the unloading valve stuck in it. The hydraulics on the MF25 & the later version of it the MF130 have had me about ready to pull my hair out a few times before I got them to working.
