Has anyone ever seen or heard of a Massey 44 Special Diesel? Or like how common or rare they are? A friend of mines' father had one but that is the only one I've ever heard of.

I have a 1954 44D Special. I don't really do any heavy work with it but it is nice tractor.

You're joking? Between late '52 and '55, Massey-
Harris built about 11,000 44 Specials, in Racine,
WI. The Diesels cost about $750.00 more, but they
sold well. Great torque, a beast dragging any
implement farther than most competitors, Since
all had 4 wheel cast center wheels, heavier frame
than the 44DRC, they performed efficiently, with
the injector pump opened up, to run at 1500 RPM's.
One can only guess on the ratios: one in three
Specials, being a Diesel? A real work horse, with
an authentic 'running' diesel engine. Good find.
