Fixing to do a split on the MF-35 diesel w/high and low range. Are there any special precautions, that I should take, when splitting and reassembling. My main concern is sliding the split back together. Never did this before. Any help will be appreciated.

Bob,
I would reccomend that when you have the tractor split that you also replace the front transmission seals. In your tractor there are two. One around the outer transmission input shaft and one around the inner PTO shaft. They are cheap and relatively easy to replace when you have it apart. You can search this site for info on replacing them.

Bob, I just did this for an engine rebuild and clutch replacement on a MF-35 Diesel...It wasn't bad at all. Just be careful not to force it when you go back together and pay special attention to what Big Dean says...
