I have an MF65 with a G176 continental engine and a broken main jet value seat (or power adjust valve seat) on the carburator. The carburator is a Marvel-Schebler TSX-695 and I haven't been able to find anyone with either a) the part in stock, or b) the ability to order the part without a 3 week wait. Any ideas? I'd like to get plowing soon.

Thanks,
Bruce

Try your local NAPA store. They had a rebuild kit for my TSX541 in 1 day

Hi Kirk -

Two of the three different styles in my parts book show the retaining nut on the top center of the mounting casting.

These thread down onto retaining bolts coming up from the bottom center of the filter cans.

The fatter (primary) filter may have a bleed-off connection on the top of the filter retaining nut, which would have to be removed before loosening the retaining nut. This retaining nut assembly may be drilled, which makes it relatively weak, so don't over-do it when re-tightening.

A light butter of silicone sealant or seal-all, if you have that product, on the copper gaskets before reassembly will reduce leaks.

And pay careful attention to the o-ring alignment when re-assembling. They are usually rectangular section, easy to get twisted, and then leak forever.

Good luck! and I admire both the perseverence in pushing for an answer, and also the TLC you're giving your tractor!

Jack in sunny NB (eastern Canada), with -28 C temp and 3 feet of crusted snow!
