Blake, if you are building a pulling tractor I have two for you. Massey Harris 44 Special gas #57230 and Massey Harris diesel #58203. Both are wheatland models . Call me. C.D.K.

From durability standpoint, neither. If you must pull, go with the 44 Special Row Crop, after S/N
55113(upgraded, heavier pinion bearings). Check
any MH for gear oil level, before purchase, as old
seals may have emptied the 13 gallon case. This
low, or empty running causes the steel gear set to pit. Even adding 13 fresh gallons is not the
answer. Under maximum stress(pulling), the pitted
teeth are apt to snap, major repairs which are not
always solved, when other pitted gears remain.

Thanks for the info. Don't know much about the MH tractors. Allis is about the only thing I have been around.

Blake, accept no substitutes, 44 Row Crop Special. S/N 55113 & up. Rear cast disc wheels will be 14.9x38(old number 13-38). Direct drive,
Bendix brakes preferred, to pull.

Pull with stamp steel wheels. 900 lb.s lighter, so you can put the weight where you want, and get into the 4500 lb. class. And don't forget the wheelie bars!!
