If I use an 8 volt battery in my TO20 what do I have to change in my 6 volt system??

i just don't under stand why any one would use a 8v when this tractor has run for 50+ years on 6v? the main reason they don't start is the wrong size battery cables use 0 at least and you can't get them at walmart.my to-20 is a 49 and starts every day even at -20

Also it is best if the ground cable goes directly to the engine block. If it is connected to the dash panel, there can be some high resistance areas through old bolts and metal until it reaches the starter.
