The first thing is: There are suppposed to be three pumps that come on the 65. I just replaced the seals in it because it was getting fluid in the oil. Mine was a cessna pump. You have to unscrew a bolt in the middle of the can to fill the can with fluid. The oil fill is to the front of this pump and it has about an 1 1/2inch threaded plug. I'm fairly sure you can tell the difference. It's not really hard to replace the inside seals or the outside seals, except that all the bolts are tight and you have to be really careful you don't break them. Spray them with "slick 50" penetrating oil, tap on them with a small hammer, and if you start getting them to turn, work them back and forth and spray. Don't just try to take them out in one direction if they are still tight. I just looked at a site that said they wanted four hundred for a pump.
I got my manual from wyonmbing??? on ebay. The I and T service manual doesn't say anything about this pump. It wouldn't be a bad idea to buy a "cd" from "big dean". He's pretty helpful. And if yours is a cessna pump, there is a spring and ball in the main body to be careful with, it shows it vaquely on the manual but it doesn't say specificlly "spring and ball". Not hard, just time consuming if you don't want to mess something up.

First step is to get 3 manuals, real MF manuals: Operator, Repair, and Parts. Carefully review the detailed steps in the repair manual. Look at the exploded views in the parts manual. Then, you can judge the size and complexity of the job and decide if it a do-it-yourself for you. Good luck.

Blis, Are you familiar with this tractor? If not, did you put power steering fluid in what appears to be a pump on the left side front of the engine? That is the engine oil filler. If you know all of this, I apologize, but couldn't tell from your post. I am fairly new to tractors and have a MF35 and didn't know how to add oil until I talked to my neighbor (he has a MF65). C. T.
