My MF65 has no drain plug in the carb. float bowl, my operators manual states there should be one, but nope. The tractor runs great except for a very occassional miss at idle. By the looks of the carb the bottom hasnt been off in 15 years or so, maybe I worry too much and should just ignore the crap that has to be floating around in there, just as the previous owner has no doubt done ! Can I drain the carb buy removing the main jet assembly ? A real funny side effect of the no drain plug thing is the way everybody stares at the bottom of the carb as if one will magically appear. Two minutes later they have to look again just to make sure. lol.

Badger....you probably will not be able to drain it unless you pull the bowl, and if you do pull it chances are you will need a carb. kit for the gaskets. Its probably not as trashy inside as you think ... My dad always ran a bottle of Chevron Techron thru his once a year...I rebuilt his carb 3 years ago and it was clean as a new whistle inside. As long as it runs ok don't sweat it...
best wishes and have a nice day...

Thanks for the reply, I believe I'll go your route for now and leave well enough alone. I'm running out of good weather to work outside, so I believe I will deal with other things first.
Thanks.
