Helping finding date of MF 135

Help. I'm a first time tractor buyer and just bought an MF 135 Deluxe. The plate with the serial number below the instrument panel is gone. Is there any other way to figure out the serial number or year of manufacture of this tractor? Thanks so much.

You are right about the posting it was mine, it works on the Perkins engine, but the US built 135 was fitted with the Continental Z134 and 145 A600 engine.
If you can find the engine serial no. let me have it I might be able to track down a year by that.

there was a posting on this subject sometime ago I think.Lay on your back with your head under the front of the tractor pull yourself back till you are under the front of the oil sump,look where it slopes up at the front towards the front pully,there is a date cast in the sump.Early machines will have no mounting pads on the clutch housing for the safety cabs which became manditory on all new ractors in this country (U.K.) in about 1971/2
