Hello The other day I was connecting my blade to the back of my MF 165 and I noticed the left hydraulic arm had a small crack running down about 1 1/2" long on the top of the "cuff". I called the Local MF dealer who said that piece was called the cuff. It is the piece on the lift arm that kinda flanges out and has a small bolt and spring going through it.

1st Question: Has anyone ever had this happen to them???

2nd Question: Should I replace the cracked cuff?? (by grinding of the weld and welding a new one on) or should I try to get a good welder to grind and weld the crack????

Does anyone have an oppion??? Thanks

Charlie, I owned a MF165 back in the 80s, and mine also gave problems. They are supposed to make it easy to hook up to an implement. The tractors that I see at auctions have been just welded up staionary. alvinnms

Alvin Thanks for the reply. I have had this tractor for a few years, its more or less a big toy. Other than replacing the waterpump it hasn't giving me any problems. It has way more power than I will ever need and was almost half the price of some 3000 Ford dsl I looked at.

Most of my family has Fords ranging from 8N's, 53 Ford Jubilee, 69 Ford 3000 dsl, 86 Ford 2910 dsl and a 80 3600 dsl. None of them can even come close to my MF 165. The only draw back is, that it is so big and heavy, which also comes in very handy sometimes.
