How can I purge the Hyd. fluid out of my MF-236 loader. I am haveing the Aux. pump up front rebuilt but when I took it off and drained it it seemed to have what apeared to be maybe paper or some chunky substance in the fluid. Dont want to run this stuff through the rebuilt pump. Does the loader have a drain and what about the cyl?

Chuck

You should be able to split the line at the cylienders then get the compressor out and blow the oil through, you will need somebody to hold the valve in the right position for the oil to pass through. If that doesn't work just unhook both ends. The tank should have a drain in the bottom, Probably the bottom plug on the right side below your control valves.

To clean the cylienders stroke them a couple of times, but watch them when you split the line, most of the oil will porbably come out then if it's downhill.

Chuck,

The tune up stuff is under "Research & Info" to the left of this page, in the Tune-Up Specs section.

George,
I looked under that section but it had nothing pertaining to the MF-135 OR AG3-152

Thanks for the info though

Chuck,

I am not sure that you have to purge, but based on your comments at the very least I think I would want a hydralic filter installed in the return line to the pump. I don't guess it would hurt to have a filter in the return line before the hydralic reservior either which in your case maybe the loader reservior. This is a very good question to refer to Big Dean. Since I don't have a loader all I can do is guess and that's not what you need right now.

Phill,
Thanks again. I forgot about the filter. There is one inline before the pump. Guess I can top off the loader fluid, run it through the filter for a while and then change the filter.

p.s. Got your email address thanks.

Chuck,

In my mind, filters are cheap insurance. Doesn't matter if they are hydralic, gasoline or diesel. Better to change too often than not often enough. Our winters in MS are mild compared to others and I failed to change my fuel filter one fall. Since I only put about 100 hours on my tractor each year I didn't think it was a problem. After the fuel pump froze and busted it cost me $499 to repair because I didn't replace a $6 to $8 filter. Expensive lessons are always the BEST!

Chuck,

Man I wish I could help here but I've had a diesel for 26 years. Someone else will have to help with this one. Sorry.
