I have a F226 block that has never been bored, and has a nice bore.. It was out of my parts tractor and was stuck at the time. It needed rings... I rebuilt the one that came with the tractor. I'm in the Idaho panhandle, could let the block, head, and all the pistons and crank, cam shaft, go for $100. But you'd have to pick it up..

You can get away with so much with these Continental engines. The 244 was in the kerosene
101 Senior. Cast pistons, I believe. Saw this engine in the early 44-6 models, also. Many
were converted to gas(from M/S carb, to Zenith 62 series). Practically the entire 244 will donate
proper fit parts to a F226. The 244 had a 3 7/16" bore, higher compression, lower RPM's. I haven't been restoring any 6's, just OHV 4's. Those 6's are the quietest, smoothest of engines, would be
nice to have one, in a MH, of course.
