Got a 165 that started making noise in clutch,we split tractor and found a locked up pilot bearing.Clutch disk is close to wore out, pressure plate has a 1 in.x 3 in. blue mark on outer edge.flywheel looks okay, pto clutch looks real good. Should i replace everything or gamble on just clutch disk and pilot bearing?Clutch worked smooth except for the noise. Thanks Avery

I would check the clutch cover for flatness, especially across the "blued" portion. If the unit is flat, it should be okay to reuse if there are no heat cracks in the blue portion or elsewhere and the lever arms all line up real close to where the throwout contacts.

If the cost for a new clutch cover is in the budget, I would recommend that route because you currently have the tractor apart and do not have to tear it down again, but if the old cover is flat across the face, it should be useable if the budget is tight, and should last for quite some time.
