I agree with Bob. If you have IPTO, than the hyd lift, IPTO, and multipower are driven off of the same shaft from the engine pressure plate. The pressure plate has a spline drive riveted right to it. If you have a 'Ground PTO' position, then the PTO will still work in that position, because that is driven off of a gear on the pinon shaft.

Does your tractor have "live PTO" with a 2-stage clutch, or does it have "Independant PTO"? I had a 165 with IPTO that kept wearing the splines in the hub on the back of the clutch cover and on the outer input shaft on the transmission. This shaft also drives the hydraulic pumps. If those splines give out completely, you would lose both the hydraulics and pto.

You have a dual clutch, one for the transmission, one that runs the hydraulics and pto. I think you might have a problem with the clutch. There's an inspection cover under the bell housing. You might take a look up there.

Wish I could help you more.

I agree. When you look into the clutch after removing said inspection cover you'll see three bolts with lock nuts. These bolts should be adjusted to obtain .050" clearance; however you must adjust the main clutch first so there is 3/4" clearance between the clutch pedal arm and the bottom of the stop where the clutch arm hits when you remove your foot from the clutch pedal. For better instructions visit Big Dean's website where he throughly explains this(with pictures) and many other maintence procedures.
