My 1950 44 was running pretty bad, fouling plugs, had to run at 1/2 choke to run, then finally would not start. Gas would just pour out of carb air intake when trying to start.

I rebuild the carb and now, still no start. Gas no longer pours out while I am trying to start it, rather it now pours out once I let go of the starter button.

What did I do wrong? ANY help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

Bob,
I have a totally rebuilt carb off my 44' that I replaced last year to go to a bigger one for pulling. If you run into a dead end on yours I'd be willing to sell mine. Drop me a email if your interested. Rob

i would say that when u rebuilt the carb you did not clean it as well as it needs to be. the carb needs every noock and cranny clean as a wislte. every jet way tube hole and seat needs to be smooth as posible. if the passage ways are not complelty round than it is not clean enough. you might want to get a set of realy small drill bits to clear the small passages in the carb.

If for some reason you dont get that carb fixed let me know if you would part with the float.
