A post in another category mentioned a MF98;I need a trctor to pull a small pan parttime and the idea of using a Detroit sounds great. Are these tractors available at decent prices? I need one in working clothes>Also, is this basic tractor available with other power? we still use detroits and love them.

massey 98s as a rule bring big bucks because fist they did not make that many and sec. most get bought up for tractor pulling. they are the same tractor as a oliver 99

Actually, other than the sheet metal the Oliver 990 and Massey 98 are the same. The Super 99 has a number of minor differences.

Because of the low production numbers of the 98 the prices are often quite lofty. They have a definate place in the heart of collector and pullers which makes them a little expensive to obtain.
