Are you sure it is oil or is it dirty fuel. I sold
these tractors . If the tractor is idling, running
with no load or running too cold (thermostat) it
will tend to spew unburned and blackened fuel.
Put it on a dyno or otherwise heavy work for a few
hours and see if the exhaust is clean. This would
be good for it no matter what the problem. This
Perkins had hard sleeves and when new had to be worked to properly broke in.

MF65 4 cyl Diesel; Yes its time for an engine rebuild. Do it yourself or shop around for a reasonbly priced diesel repair guy. Or sell as is for your best offer assuming you don't need a high quality tractor like the MF65. I almost got one 2 years ago with a loader for $1500 from a widow. The other guy beat me by one day.

Just finished rebuilding my own a4-203. It had same problem 2 pistons had broken ring lands. An overhaul would be best, instead of patching.

Another possibility is your piston rings are bad.

Just a thought.

You could remove the head and have it magnafluxed but, chances are it's time for a overhaul. Bad rings, bad pistons, even worn valve guides. Have the fuel injection system gone thru while you are at it. Or try to locate another engine.
