I have a 444 puller and one of the stock cast hubs is broken. If i replace the stock cast hubs with weld on style steel hubs will I still be able to replace the bearings for the axel without cutting off my new weld on hubs? Thank you.

Probably have to build a support sling to slide the axle shaft out of the housing, and back in,
again. Before this is possible, you tear down the
tranny case, pull the pins in the bull gears. You
would damage a seal easily without adequate support. For all this sweat labor, are you having
doubts your tapered hubs will hold up, using a
match? What of swapping out to clamp hubs, 44 RC
axles? Weld doesn't leave any options.
