I was given my Grandpa's Massey Ferguson, and I dont know what year it is. The serial number near the steering wheel is SGMI 69937. On the SGMI I am not sure if that is an I or a T.

Is it possible that the "I" is actually a "1"? According to the s/n list on the left of the page, the only thing that makes sense is that it's a Ferguson (not MF) and the I is a 1. This would put it in the 1956 model year. One year newer than my Dad's. This is a fantastic little tractor - you'll love it. A couple of tips, read up in the forum archives about the types of oil to use in a Ferguson system. It's important. Also, this is one of the only engines I'll use a Champion plug in... they were designed to run and run well on Champs. I've always found this weird because normally you can't MAKE an engine run on the darn things. - Good luck - ALAN

Alan, Thanks soooo much for your help. It is very possible that it is a 1. I am just beginning restoration on this tractor. As soon as I can I will have some pics posted. Happy Farming!!!
