My brother in law ran the 240 today and said it didn't smoke. Nothing has been done since I reported it smoked. He said he turned the ignition key back to off to get the alternator light off. I will talk to him about not doing that because I assume it will not charge in that position and it turns the light off when the rpms come up so he shouldn't do that. Just thought it was interesting the tractor didn't smoke. Maybe it is just a fluke or maybe something electrical is involved. What would have been standard for cold starting on a 240 that could be staying energized with the switch on and letting fuel in that is not needed. Could you purchase these tractors with different set ups for cold weather. This tractor is in Ala and I have never started it below 40 degrees F and unfortunately not looked to see what stuff is on it for cold weather starting. Maybe someone can enlighten me about what the possibilities are.
