Tractor steering is OK when it starts. But after it warms up,it gets sluggish at low RPM. I just bought this tractor.

Bob My brother had this problem also with his 2805. He said that you have a pump in the rear end supplying the power steering pump up front. It could be either pump going bad. But if the rear end pump goes bad first it will take out the one up front. I think he said he had to replace both in his. He also said that when the injector pump starts to leak fuel it's very expencive to repair and when this happens it's time to park the old girl and plant some flowers around her. Good luck

Would you happen to know if your brother's tractor had the "round" shaped injector pump or the "inline" pump. I've got a 1979 with the "round" one and was wondering if I should be digging some flowers :) Pappy

Pappy I don't know which one he has but, want to say it is an old 2800 updated to a 2805 so that would mean it's a CAV. I called him last night and we talked about the power steering so I know that info was right. He lives half way acrossed the US and have only seen it a couple of times when I've been home on leave. I will say on thing though, he'll leave the Stieger in the shed and take the 2805 instead. Hope you have good luck with whatever style you have.

Merle, Thanks for the reply! This is the most I've heard about a 2805 in a while, especially the different injector pumps. Thanks again.

The tractor with the steering problem has an inline injector pump. I beleave Bocsh made these pumps. They can make a lot of HP stock. Does anyone know how much HP a stock 2805 with an inline pump can make. Thanks for all the info. Bob from Ohio.
