My 1963 MF35 apparently has a bad voltage regulator. I tried cleaning the points on the thing, but that didn't do the trick. So I guess I'm gonna have to replace the thing.

My question is - Does anyone make a solid state replacement for these things? Or am I stuck replacing it with another one with points that will quit again in 5 or 10 years?

If you are still running a generator- No one is producing a solid state replacement.

If you are running with an alternator, identify which make you have, and many times you can install a newer solid state regulator in place of the old mechanical unit.

If you are still running a generator, you might want to consider switching over to a newer Marine application "Delcotron" as they have only one wire to attach to the ignition switch in addition to the batery connection. (otherwise a regular two wire Delcotron can have those two terminals on the side wired together and run to the ignition switch or other "switched hot" location.
