My 1962 MF-35 diesel's glow plug seems to have stopped working. It's been fine up to now, but I can't hear anything when I turn the key anti-clockwise like I used to. The tractor still starts, but takes a bit longer. Also the oil pressure gauge has stopped working - it's stuck on the top end of normal, where it used to be when it was working and the tractor was running. Tractor still runs fine. Probably a stupid question, but could these problems be related or is this just a coincidence? Any thoughts on how to resolve either of these? I'm not very technical so they will need to be dumbed down a little!

Thanks

Chris, your oil gauge should be mechanical, e.g. should have a steeltube from engine to back of gauge, try undoing it and blowing out with air, it could have carbon or engine sludge blocking it. If this doesnt work replace the gauge. Your cold start is electrical, get a test light and see if there is power going to it when you turn your key anti clockwise, if it has your cold start needs reolacing, if not trace back wiring to find fault, could be broken wire, bad connection or faulty switch, try it and keep us posted. cheers for now.

Thanks. I'll try that and let you know.
