I recently purchased a MF 175 Diesel without an in depth inspection. When I got it home and ran it a while black liquid started dripping (blowing) from the exaust stack.I also noticed the oil is overfilled. What would be the next step? Thanks

Hi Art

If crankcase seems overfull you can smell the dipstick..if smell diesel fuel chances are that
the diaphragm in the primer pum is busted or the shaft seal in the injection pump is shot permitting the diesel fuel to drip in the cranckcase. If the engine oil has a milky appearance or/and if there are light air bubles
in oil on dipstick engine coolant is going to
the crasnckcase.

Anyway do not run an engine with overfull cranckcase major damage will occur.

Not an ex-pert evalutation
just my 2 cents

Good luck !

sound like all the tractor needs is just some hard working. A diesel will start spitting oil from the exhaust if you just play around with the engine idling, or if it's used a long time doing some light job like powering a log splitter.
