Hi all,

Hoping to get a little help. I was the proud owner of a 44-6 (1945 model I believe) and recently gave it to a retired friend for a restoration project. While I loved the tractor, it was just to big for my limited uses. I used the tractor for 5 years brush cutting, plowing snow, & general "fun things", but now it's begging to be restored back to original. My problem from day one has been the extreme difficulty in finding parts for it. The governer was worn & the case was split but some carefull TIG welding brought it back to functional (not pretty though !) It seems as though the 6's were fairly rare. Any sources of engine parts (rings, bearings, seals, valves, etc.) Also the hydraulics were weak on this tractor. Probably needs a pump rebuild but lots of luck finding parts for this one ! I'd just like to be able to give my friend some places to start with. Myself ? I've turned grey.... a cute little 2-N is sitting in the garage awaiting some TLC.

Thanks for any help...
Bob

You might want to try Montes Equipment Co. 800-228-2625. They specialize in old obsolete contential engine parts.

well first of all there was no 44-6 made 1945, the first one was 1946 and only 1 in that year after that more was made. if you have hydralics it is after 1950 i believe ,i have a 1947,serial number1068, no hydralics and my dad has a 50 or 51 ?? no sure of? it has 3pt and hydralics . you can get parts from your local NAPA store that is where he got his for the motor. a continetal 226 is rare to find parts that are not to cheap good luck , find a generous person that is willing to cut a deal and you have parts , some are hard to get ,some are easy.
