I came across a MF 35 for sale, it has the 3 cylinder Perkins. The tractor is in decent condition needs new tires and exhaust manifold. What would a good be a good price to pay for this tractor. Another question what does the serial number tell you SNM249031 ?

Thanks

Brent...bought mine a few years ago. MF 35 Deluxe, Perkins. $4250 and slightly restored, but recently overhauled. Needs a hydraulics overhaul. The link to mine on the YT Tractor Registry is given. SN is 250583, also 1964, like yours, but slightly newer.

Great tractor. I'm a greenhorn, and this is my first tractor. On advice of friends, had been looking for an 8n when I saw this one. The MF was around $1400 more than the 8n - way more than I intended to spend, but I've never regretted it. Even my friend who advised (and has) an 8n fell in love with it after he used it.

As in another reply, I could sell it today and get what I put into it, but wouldn't even consider it!

I think the other guys are right in there.

I paid $3,400 for my gas MF35 about 6 years ago. It's probably worth about the same amount today, I'd guess.

A lot depends on your local market. If you have a lot of yupies around with 5 acres who are farmers, they tend to buy up any available tractors and pay ungodly sums for them. That can really drive the value of them up.

Hog you hit it right on. I live in Collin County, Texas which is a little North of Dallas. The county tax collector said that there were more YUPPIE FARMS (5 acre) here than anywhere else in the USA.

Right on again about price. I bought an 80 hp JD in great shape for $500 more than my MF 35.

How bout dat.

Mine is a couple thousand units from yours. Same SNM. It had been repainted and sheet metal bondo'd for a real professional look.

Perkins is strong, starts fast, but oil press is low indicating overhaul someday. I put in HD 40w oil and press is reasonable.

Everything works except fuel gauge (others orig); lift performs nicely but drops within 1 minute when engine off indicating worn O-ring on lift cylinder....no biggie.

One rear tire is weak, other fine. Glad to give $4000 a month ago.
