Hi

I have a MF-135 with a diverter valve on the top
of hydraulic cover where spool valve is usualy
installed to operate a loader with internal pump.

On the valve there is a part number RML-17
made in Canada. There are two quick connects
when pushing the lever forward the pressure is
present on the front outlet when pushing the lever
backwards the pump seems to be overloaded and no
pressure in both outlets. If running an hydraulic
driven motor pushing lever forward oil get out
by the front outliet and returns by the rear port and the hyd motor runs perfectly. If the lever is pulled backwards hyd motor stops and pump seems to be overloaded.

I tough that this setup provided double action
operation but no.

There is a pipe plug upper rear of the valve
but I do'nt have fittings to plumb it for a test.

Somebody had worked with this kind of valve ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Ray,

Thanks for taking the time to post the very good picture.

Valve is exactly the one on my 135
Plumbed as I expected front port is oil pressure
to the loader...lower back port is oil return.
so I will need a spool valve to operate a double
action cylinder. I know it will slow due to the
internal pump low output volume.

Many thanks helped me a lot.

That is more or less just a diverter. You have to mount a Hyd. valve if you want to run a hydraulic cylinder. I'm not sure what all the postions are for as I plumbed an aux. pump to the front of our 165, but I was on a 135 w/ this the other day. One position was for the 3pt, the other for the aux. The 3rd didn't seem to do anything, except load the pump like you had said. It had a single valve on it similar to what you would find on a loader. hope I answered some of your questions.

Hi Don

Thanks for your reply...

I made some test again today as you mentionned
center position is for the 3PT there is 2 port
at rear of the valve and one port front of the valve. Upper rear port was pluged. I took the
fitting on the lower back port and installed it on
the upper back port.

Result:
Lever back = oil pressure upper back port
Lever center = 3pt
lever front = oil pressure front port
The lower back port seems to be a oil return port.

Conclusion: as you mentionned I need an hydraulic
valve. This tractor is equipped with hyd pressure
control to be used with some implements designed to tranfer weight on rear of tractor. This diverter valve may be part of the weight transfer
setup who knows. I have all imaginable manuals here there is no information on this system.

Thanks again !

Glad I could help you out some. Problably why the switch block isn't mentioned in the manuals is because it's an aftermarket thing to add hydraulics to those not equiped from the factory with an aux pump for remotes on the back. This makes it so you can plumb into the 3pt. pump and have some rear aux., but you can't use like a loader and back blade at the same time. Our 165 came with a loader on the front with it's own hydraulic reservoir, and was run off a front mounted pump. The loader frame split and was welded so many times we just got a different loader tractor and took the old one off the 165. We kept the 2 spool valve and the pump/ driveshaft just incase we would ever need them. Wouldn't you know it, our other loader tractor(1755 Oliver) blew it's engine, so we had the frame modified to fit the 165(Allis Chalmers loader) We could have used the reservoir on the left upright, but it wasn't used in who knows how long, and the top plug is gone so water could get in. I took off the pto access plate, and drilled/ tapped a 1" fine thread hole in it. I then took a 3/4" female pipe coupler, turned it down to 1" O.D. with a step on the lathe. I threaded the 1" O.D. to match the tap I used and put a 90 deg. elbow on the inside w/ a pipe going down into the sump. I put another 90 on the outside, and I ran a line up to the front mounted pump, driven off the crankshaft. I ran the pressure line up the right side along the loader frame and up the fender, where I have the old valve mounted. I then ran the lines for the loader to the back, w/ pioneer couplings to run remotes off the back if I wanted. Turned out to work really sweet, and now I use that one a lot in the winter for chores usually done by the deisels which had remotes. Now I can just fire up the gasser instead.
Sorry I'm so long but someday someone might find this handy...
