My 'new' Massey 135 has been overfilled with hydraulic/transmission oil when i checked the dipstick.

Is this a problem?

Should i drain some out, or is it ok to leave it?

Thanks

Thanks guys!

I drained some out today. The reading on the dipstick is now exactly on the full mark.

Drain some of the oil out.

If it is clean with no water in it, you can save it and use again.

Ben,

I would recommend adjusting the level as well. It can also work its way out the trans input shaft and get to the clutch.

No it is not safe to leave it! The oil level is determined by the capacity required and to maintain the level below the outer axle seals. There is a very real risk of oil seeping past the inner (outer) seals and then through the outside ones. This oil should drain down to backplate but if there is debris inside the drum it will soon find its way onto the shoes.
